Mentoring: Do You Need A Mentor?by Luke BlaiseIt seems like some people are always talking about how you need a mentor if you really want to succeed. What about people who don't want a mentor or think getting one is too much hassle? Getting a mentor in the traditional life coach sense is great. But if you are like me I don't really want to go out and find one. I do have mentors, but not in the traditional sense of the word. I think you can have mentors, many mentors and not even talk to them. For instance if you want a mentor to improve your spirituality you could pick someone like Wayne Dyer. Do you think he would talk to you or mentor you? If so could you afford it? Well I do have him for a mentor but I don't pay him very much. I just bought his book. Now he is my mentor, not in the traditional sense, but I am learning from him and accessing his knowledge. The truth is you can have one mentor for each area of your life that you want to improve. I encourage you to seek out people who you admire and think that can help you. Now it is great if you get a mentor in the classical sense, but having a mentor this way means not having to worry about how often or where you should meet. Also this new way you can change mentors very easily without any hurt feelings.
